We are a specialist tour company, dealing in bespoke, personalised, WW1 battlefield tours to France and Belgium. We cater especially for those interested in following in the footsteps of an ancestor who served, or maybe died, on the battlefields of the First World War. Equally, our battlefield tours can be adapted to concentrate on a particular area or battlefield, or indeed be tailored to provide a general overview of the Western Front. Our tours are ideal for those who would like to travel in a small intimate group, with the freedom to adapt the itinerary to their requirements. We also offer a self-drive option.
Our guided battlefield tours to the First World War battlefields of France and Belgium, provide a fully customised travel and guiding service for small groups of typically four people. These battlefield tours are completely bespoke, fully inclusive and include a full research service, transport, accommodation, meals and snacks for a three day trip. All you need to bring is spending money.
For those who would prefer to travel independently, we provide self-drive battlefield tours. With this option we will carry out research for you on your soldier ancestor and combine this with a suggested itinerary. We will try to uncover all the information we can, which will typically include personal and battalion details, as well as maps and photographs, accounts of movements and actions that your ancestor took part in as well as accompanying background information. We will also provide details of Commonwealth War Grave burial locations or memorials commemorating your ancestor, such as those at Thiepval and Ypres if he didn't survive. To help you locate the areas of interest we will provide travel advice and recommend accommodation and restaurants along the way.
